According to MPR News, the Minnesota House of Representatives has budgeted $6 million for reducing racial economic disparities. That is a far cry from Governor Dayton’s requested $100 million and the Senate Democrat’s $91 million proposal.
“‘When we have a $900 million budget surplus, it is really unacceptable for us to not do more to address the economic disparities in or state. If not now, then when?’ Rep. Rena Moran, DFL-St. Paul, said during floor debate.”
