“Find a bigger hammer” is no longer sufficient for maintaining today’s sophisticated manufacturing equipment. As a result, industrial maintenance is yet another area where there’s a growing shortage of skilled workers. Minnesota West Community and Technical College and a number of business partners developed an industrial maintenance program with both certificate and degree tracks. After a successful seven-student pilot, a full class of 19 started in the fall of 2015.
