A two-year scholarship program at Dunwoody called Women in Technical Careers (WITC), introduces women to careers in welding, construction, HVAC and other technical fields. The Minneapolis Foundation, Hearst Foundation, Women’s Foundation of Minnesota and many others provided funding for the WITC program.

So far, the program has accepted 42 women aged 18 to 52 . Average salary before enrollment: $12/hour. Average salary of a Dunwoody graduate: $40,000 a year. Placement rate: 98.5 percent.
